Clarins: more than €100 million investment for Hauts-de-France
With a logistics centre at Glisy, near Amiens, the European cosmetics industry leader wants to expand in the region with a second production site.
Having analysed over 120 locations in France, the Clarins Group finally selected a 10-hectare plot of land at the Parc des Autoroutes, Saint-Quentin.
The new plant will enable the company to continue its expansion in France and internationally.
Hauts-de-France: a strategic choice for business
The region’s three key assets persuaded Clarins to consider Hauts-de-France, #3 in France for the cosmetics sector:

Local public bodies worked together, paving the way with fast and efficient project support. This stemmed in part from a Business Implantation Contract.
“The arrival of Clarins in the region sends a strong message of hope. Hope for employment, hope for the people who live here and hope for the Saint-Quentin area. I am really grateful to the Clarins group for their confidence in us!” states Frédérique Macarez, President, Communauté d’Agglomération of Saint-Quentin.
Clarins: an expansion project boosted by Nord France Invest
A rapid decision-making process
It took Clarins less than a year to choose Hauts-de-France as the location for its second French factory.
- November 2020: project identification, via a partner, JLL, the property consultancy
- January 2021: first visit to Saint-Quentin
- March 2021: 2nd site visit
- September 2021: Clarins announces the choice of Saint-Quentin and the Hauts-de-France region for its new factory
Support getting established
The project’s location study was carried out by JLL, the property consultancy, with the assistance of Nord France Invest.
The agency consulted local partners to identify sites that met the company’s expectations: a 10-hectare turn-key site allowing a building of up to 40,000m2 to be constructed.
The search revealed several regional sites, including the Parc des Autoroutes at Saint-Quentin.

Nord France Invest assisted in the following areas:
- Cutting through red tape
- Mobilising financial support
- Connecting with the local business community
And monitoring the company’s project in the medium and long term, anticipating challenges and providing solutions throughout the site’s development.
